Noise Overload...Joy Abounds!

On Sunday evening my 19 year old daughter came in on a Greyhound bus from New York City (where she has been since June 2007). WooHoo! The family was of course all overjoyed at having J back in the midst of us. Out of my 5 children J has always been the loudest and the second most rambunctious. So you can probably imagine the noise level in my home yesterday!
J is spending the Holiday here and will be returning to NYC on November 29th. So if you do the math that is quite a bit of time here with her siblings.
Huuummmm, this should be interesting...
J left here pretty abruptly and I think everyone had and still has some unresolved feelings about that departure and contrary to popular belief time and space does not heal all wounds. For now everyone is just enjoying the entire family being back under the same roof (Did I mention that my son, his wife and their soon to be one year old daughter have moved in with me???).
I love the fact of having all of my children home again, all together, under one roof... I also know that with this new found restoration there will also arise complications, issues, and attitudes. But with God steering this ship we will prevail! And yes there is a very much increased noise level! I can see my neighbors packing up their stuff already!
For Thanksgiving I am hosting the family dinner this year, so add me and my five children, daughter-in-law, grand baby, then add to the mix my sister and her 5 children and my mother and we have a pretty full house!
So Happy Holidays to all and please pray my strength in the Lord!!!

I am so happy for you that J is home for a while. I'm quite sure that I can imagine the noise level at your house right now. Your poor neighbors.

I'm so happy that you have J home and your whole family is together for the holidays! I'm sure the unresolved feelings will come out, but for now, enjoy having everyone there. Deal with what comes up and then as a family you can be closer and move on from it together. Yeah for having everyone together for the holidays!

I am so, so happy for you Regina! What fun you are going to have :-) I hope any little niggling issues get resolved quickly and peacefully so that you can have a wonderful time together.

Yeah for you! I LOVE huge family get-togethers with lots of noise, laughter, and fun. With lots of people there are always a few issues that arise, but it always seems to be overshadowed by the amount of love and fun of family. Enjoy your Holidays!

Girl-that is a house full. Our Christmas will look like that. I will pray for your sanity and maybe you should think about getting some ear plugs? :)
Have a great Thanksgiving!
