Blogger's Unite For Human Rights!

I did a post on April 13th about the genocide in Darfur and the plight of the people there. I was one of many bloggers to participate in the Global Day For Darfur by lending our voices and our blogs to bring the social issues that plague Darfur to the forefront of our consciousness.

It’s time to use our collective voices to do something for people other than ourselves!

On April 30th, I got a message from Blogcatalog which said that on May 15th Bloggers Unite will be joined by Amnesty International in an effort to engage in a worldwide movement that campaigns for internationally recognized human rights, On this day you’re invited to help bring attention to these atrocities by posting your views and feelings on them.

We really can make a difference!

So please

  1. Visit the Bloggers Unite page,
  2. Grab a badge for your blog, and
  3. Write a post drawing attention to this movement, and
  4. Remember to post on May 15th about Human Rights!
So do some research, get the facts, and join the Bloggers Unite For Human Rights campaign on May 15th. Let YOUR voice be heard!

You're always involved and making a difference. I'll pass it on!

Hey Believer!
About a year ago I decided that I wanted to be active in something outside of my personal sphere/space. So every now and then something grabs my attention. And plus blogging has made me aware of so much other stuff!

Taking part in causes that move us can be beneficial on many levels.

This is also on this week's Blog Safari. By the way, it's posted!

Don't forget to watch the video I mentioned on Life Instructions.

Happy Sunday!

I just signed up for it. Thank you for letting me know about this.

HEALTH NUT WANNABEE MOM 04 May, 2008 23:22

Will sign up tomorrow! If it weren't for you I would not have known so you are right. We can all make a difference together. Thanks for letting me know.

I applaud what you are doing Regina, but there is enough trouble in our backyard that could really use our blog voice as well. Far too many times, we consume ourselves with the plights of what goes on in other countries when our help is not wanted and those here get left behind and their lives are destroyed without us even knowing.

I honestly do applaud any who dabble in the affairs of foreign countries, because it takes someone with a big to want to do so.

Hi All - Thanks for responding!
@Beleiver - that was an awesome safari! Thanks for including me!

@Tammy - you are very welcome, every bit counts!

@Health Nut - you'd be surprised what collective voices can accomplish!

@Marcus - I do understand and agree with some of what you said. that is my biggest issue with sending money to foreign countries when we have homeless and starving people right here in our own backyard. However this particular campaign is for Human Rights, ALL Human Rights here at home and abroad. Your letter or post can be about people in Brooklyn NY or people in Bangladesh, because frankly we ALL could use some help!!
BTW - I love the way your mind works!!

@Bluedreamer - check out the Amnesty site, it is very interesting!

Bless you for being involved. Human Rights involves "everyone's right."
If we do not stand up for something we will fall for everything.

Thanks for being the voice in the wilderness. There can never be enough attention brought to this situation. Thanks for doing your part. Peace!

I've had the window opened now for days. I'm going to finish reading about it and see what I could do on my part.
