I enjoyed hearing Dionne Warrick on the Old School Friday. I hope you're having fun at Six Flags.

Ditto! Really liked the DW cut...takes me back!

Have a great time at Six Flags and when you return, I hope you get a chance to drop SjP's on this OSF where breaking up with a little funk by the Ohio Players is playing all day.

Have a great and safe weekend!

..."this is the, heartbreak...hotel" ...right before our girl went off the cliff! lol

ShAĆ© - ShAĆ© 18 July, 2008 13:35

Oh girl I went straight to Heartbreak Hotel. I immediately thought of the Michael Jackson version. I love this song. :-)

aj

Great choice. I've not heard Dionne in awhile. I've always loved her music.

MrsGrapevine 18 July, 2008 17:13

They took all your songs down, but lucky me, I know two out of three. I don't know the Lil Mon song, I will go find it on you tube and give it a listen. Now that you mentioned Whitney, I have a few more break-up songs that come to mind, "I Learned From the Best", and "All at Once."

Where is Dionne Warwick, now?

Believer 1964 18 July, 2008 17:38

I liked the Whitney pick this week.

Have fun with the family!

MsMarvalus 18 July, 2008 18:17

I haven't heard Dionne's version of this song in a LONG time...I can only hear Luther in my head, though...sorry D...

Happy OSF! Enjoy Six Flags!

Invisible Woman 18 July, 2008 18:24

Not familiar with the Lil Mo one...thanks!:-)

Have fun at the Flags...

Vivrant Thang 18 July, 2008 23:14

Yea like Marvalus, I can only hear Luther's version. He just makes you forget! And I loved on one of the tribute albums where Elton John "dueted" with him. Sounded great. Excellent choice.

Ironically I just saw that video for HBH not long ago. I loved the three of them on that. Perfect combo. They all looked BEAUTIFUL in the video.

Hope you're having a great time!

Lisa C 19 July, 2008 13:16

Love the Whitney pick!!

clnmike 19 July, 2008 23:45

Ok you got me with the Dionne Warwick joint, her voice at that age was literally flawless. The ony one who came close was Whitney, just crystal clear.

It's a shame though black people never really gave her the props she deserved for having such a voice.

bluedreamer27 20 July, 2008 05:03

cooper 20 July, 2008 14:49

Anyone who had a heart is actually one of my favorite songs of all time.
I have her greatest hits cd and constantly play it while driving,it's quite worn now so it's time to get another.
That song though just strikes me.

Hi there!

I really love this meme because you are always pulling out stuff that make people say, "whaaaat?!"

*chuckles*

I have never even heard of Lil Mo.
Once again, I must join the others in saying: Whaaaaat?!
