Comedian Bernie Mack, Dead At 50

Hello There Bloggers,

I don't know if you heard the news or not but it is with great saddness and shock that I report Actor/Comedian Bernie Mack is dead at the young age of 50. You may know him from the movies Oceans Eleven, Guess Who, or Life. Or you may know him from the hit TV show, The Bernie Mack Show. This was a totally hilarious and talented man who I had the privilege of seeing perform live a few years ago in New York. He was a comedic genius in my mind and will surely be missed.

Read the story here.

Rest In Peace Bernie...

I had no idea!!! This is horrible! I love Bernie Mac! It's so sad. 50 years old is so young. It really makes you thank God for each and every day you have!

Regina what a sad day. I read a article were Bernie Mac told David Letterman on CBS' "Late Show" "that he planned to retire soon because he wanted to enjoy his life a little bit, because he missed a lot of things."

Hi Regina, what a tragic loss. I feel so much for his family. I know what it is for a father to pass at this age. Very unexpected and very difficult.

His life touched a lot of people with laughter...that's a good thing.

My husband was just telling me about this. So hard to believe. He was very young. Reminds us to be thankful for each day we have.

I heard about this this sad. I do so hope that some where along the line he became a believer.
What a tragedy if not.
I also thought about his family and what they must be going through. This was such an early death.

I saw this on the AOL welcome screen this morning, and was speechless. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. He will be missed, he had extreme talent

Wanted to say that his publicist is uninformed to say that pneumonia had nothing to do with the fact that he lived with sarcoidosis. This disease is known mainly for its pulmonary complications. It decreases the elasticity of the lungs and makes them brittle. Any smoking in addition to this would make a person at very high risk for death with even the smallest of lung infections such as pneumonia. Truthfully an autopsy should be done to rule out Pulmonary Ebolism as a contribution to death and if so then the family should seriously think about a lawsuit for wrongful death. Failure to recognize is failure to rescue. So sad you are gone Mr. B.

Sorry failed to spell Pulmonary Embolism correctly.

I don't believe anyone, aside from his family, saw this coming. May he RIP. Very sad, indeed.

I have just learned this....and I am not happy to see another funny black man go.

RIP Bernie

He will be deeply missed. He was just toooo funny...I meant to comment on the gangsta babies. I got to work the other night and pulled them demons up on the internet and showed that hot mess to my co-workers...Girl...

It came as a big surprise for me...I've been out of the loop and didn't even know he was in the hospital.
I still can't believe it.

I was soooo shocked when I heard this. I remember reading earlier in the week that he was sick but I didn't realize how sick he was. I feel so sad about his death- way too young.
