And The Winner Is...That One!!!!!

Well, people it's a wrap! The longest campaign in history is over and history has been made!!
I spent the last couple of hours on my buddy Zack's blog, Go Zack where he had live chatting while we waited for the counting to be over. It was a great way to spend a few hours and it was fun!
So now the votes are tallied and the winner is ............

I never in my lifetime thought I would see this day! Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States. I sit here with my eyes all misty thinking about my history as an African American. Thinking about those who came before me and who even gave their lives for this struggle, like Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King Jr., Frederick Douglas, W. E. B Dubois, Booker T Washington, Marcus Garvey, Harriett Tubman just to name a few. Those who shed blood, sweat and tears so that other generations could achieve the highest of heights.

Nights, like tonight show and prove that EVERY child can aspire to be and do ANYTHING they want to do!! As Martin Luther King Jr said, "little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character..."

This is the most monumental and historical night of my lifetime to date. I just hope that people realize; America needed and wanted a change so they elected Barack Obama, who will not be the President for black people but the President of all the people of the United States!

This is a great day, Regina. I can't stop crying...

Regina 04 November, 2008 23:11

Girl!! You and me both. I am sitting here watching this speech, thinking about my dead grandparents and my grandbaby, thinking that there is change in the air...
Giving God praise for what he has done and what he will do!

Hi Gina! All I can say is WHOO HOO!! Hope, change and vitality are being breathed into our nation as we speak; and it's about time we grab hold to what this country's all about: "one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

My mother used to always say "Old man can't been dead."
Barak put it this way "Yes we can, Yes we can."
So now its time for America to say "We will do, We will do."
The election is over so now we must put action to our faith and get involved and do what needs to be done to help this man bring about change.

God can do anything but fail!

There is no failure in God!!!!!

It is truly amazing!!!! :-) I cried and cried tears of joy.

God has shown us once again that anything is possible with Him! I am sooooo excited for our country! One of my favorite poems is "Don't Quit". Allow me to quote a portion as it relates to this historic time in our lives:

"When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you're trudging seems all up hill, when the funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile, but you have to sigh, when care is pressing you down a bit, rest if you must - but don't you quit."

We, as a nation, a Christian nation, must continuously lift PRESIDENT (it's so INCREDIBLE to type this word next to his name!) OBAMA in prayer that He may aim high, be strong and fulfill the destiny God has for him.

sorry I havent visited in a minute...but I am so glad this election is ova.....

I'm from Philippines, I'm not an American but I cheer with you people for the jubilant you had yesterday. I had been following your election. I know a lot of people here are equally excited for your new president. As you know America has instituted in us the ideals of democracy and we get inspiration from the way you choose your leader and the way your leader lead your country. The speeches that Pres. Obama delivered yesterday is touching every man's heart not only on the people within your land but also to those outside America who believes in the ideals of democracy and the Spirit of God who blesses every country that calls His name. Again my congratulation for making your election remarkably peaceful and praiseworthy.

I am absolutely thrilled at the outcome of your election. And I just love the quote "little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character..." I hope it will oneday be completely true for all of us!

The people have spoken, and as a "united" America, we stand behind the president and his leadership.
