Hey Shae! 14 November, 2008 02:12

I'm loving the Temptations selection. And you are right, Nacy was pushing the envelope. :)

iceah 14 November, 2008 02:12

hey we are both November babies c: So that's why we JIVE together c:

Believer 1964 14 November, 2008 06:34

Nancy's video was showin' an awful lot of leg for back then.

Revvy Rev 14 November, 2008 08:01

Mini-skirts, go-go boots, hippies, and free love were in in the late 60s. These were my teen years and we idolized the Temptations. The Marvelettes were tops along with Supremes and Martha & the Vandellas.

The True Urban Queen aka Sharon 14 November, 2008 08:23

Happy Belated Birthday to you.

I hope you enjoyed yourself.

I'm sure Nancy caused a lot of eyes to open wide and mouths to fall open.

pjazzypar 14 November, 2008 08:39

Happy Birthday! You can never go wrong with the Temps and although Nancy seems risque, it was all the rage in the 60's. Happy OSF!

Dori 14 November, 2008 08:58

Loved them all...The Temptations are always good to hear and yeah, Nancy Sinatra was doing her thing during them swingin' 60s :)

Keith 14 November, 2008 09:06

Happy OSF Regina!

These are some fun picks. "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" has to be one of my favorites from the Temps, although it's hard to name just one favorite with those brothers. And Nancy Sinatra...? Lord, Lord, Lord...

And she was doing this back then?

Lemme calm down and just say that was a very enjoyable video. Yeah, that's safe enough.

Vivrant Thang 14 November, 2008 09:42

More Temps and I'm loving it! I'm trying to think of the movie that this song always remind me of.

Great picks. Happy OSF Miss Regina :)

Tha Connoisseur 14 November, 2008 09:43

Nancy Sinatra was SERIOUS. Perhaps it was her who single handedly gave women that feeling of really WALKIN' and strutin' HARD in our boots...lol

Happy OSF!

iriegal 14 November, 2008 09:44

Hi Miss Novemeber baby...lol

and what a wonderful YEAR too!! right on! Great choices, wasn't the 60's the best!

Quick 14 November, 2008 09:56

Prof. PC 14 November, 2008 10:33

DP 14 November, 2008 13:04

Happy Belated B-Day Regina! And Happy OSF. Great choices. Its amazing to look at what was risque back then in comparison to now.

clnmike 14 November, 2008 14:26

I like Nancy, I got a couple of her songs on my playlist.

Happy OSF

MrsGrapevine 14 November, 2008 15:18

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REGINA!

I have never heard Don't Mess with Bill. This song is something else.

Everytime I hear the opening to Ain't to Proud Too Beg, I get excited, "I Know You Wanna Leave Me, but I refused to let you go"...That was romantic then, but now it sounds a little possessive.

These boots, is yet another classic. I loved this song a lot when I was a little girl.

Malcolm 14 November, 2008 15:23

Happy birthday! You made 3 superb choices this week. I often think "what if?" when it comes to David Ruffin's departure from The Temptations. Although I like Dennis Edwards, David was in a class all by himself.

Marcus LANGFORD 14 November, 2008 15:42

that nancy sinatra video is a bit erotic-even for 1966; i guess she started that whole movement...lol.

i like the marvelettes song and the temptations too.

(happy belated b-day)

AJ 14 November, 2008 16:14

You gonna make me go turn on the CD player......I'm getting all nostalgic. ;)

MsMarvalus 14 November, 2008 18:40

::singing::

"I know you wanna leave me...but I refuse to let you go..."

My favorite part of the whole song...the intro!

Great picks!

SjP 14 November, 2008 21:03

Great picks! 1966! Now that was a good year!

Hagar's Daughter 15 November, 2008 05:06

Happy belated b-day Miss Regina. Girl, you old...LOL! I only tease because we are the same age.

I'm posting a day late because I was on vacation, but thought I, too, should reveal my age like everyone else. Hey, you took all the good songs!

survivor 15 November, 2008 09:35

Happy belated birthday sis. Idontgiveableep DOES give a bleep about a wonderful lady. 1966 give birth to some vintage people

;-)

Jewelry Rockstar 15 November, 2008 16:02

Happy Birthday! I didn't know it was old School Friday, but I posted Marvin Gaye Inner City Blues on my blog yesterday. Because these bills are making me wanna holler, LOL!

Alicia Michele Benjamin 19 November, 2008 16:54

Go head Nancy! I'd like to see somebody remake that song -- maybe with a GOGO beat (that D.C. feel).
Why is it that I always think of Quentin Tarantino films when I hear this song?
Nancy was hot!
