Wordless Wednesday #43 "Not So Wordless Updates"

OK, I know it is Wordless Wednesday, but please bare with me here!!
Weather that I am almost kind of used to! Northern Texas has been hit with what they are calling a major ice storm. Coming from upstate New York I am used to wintry weather. New York at this time of the year is known for it's snow and single digit temperatures. But here in Texas we are covered in ICE! It may look like snow in the pictures but that is actually all ICE! There is about an 1/2 inch of ice covering everything. Schools are closed, the Airport has shut down, there have been multiple accidents and a few deaths. We are holding at about 19 degrees, covered in ice. The road ways and bridges have been continually sanded (Here in Texas they sand as compared to New York who salts) but that ice has been holding strong. However as the sun rises higher the hopes are that the sunshine will start to melt some of this ice.
As I mentioned in a previous post the Diva has been invited to apply to be a Student Ambassador and take a trip to England and France. We went to the informational meeting. She has her application packet and we are trying to map out a plan to raise the money for this trip. Don't worry you will hear more about this trip and it's funding needs in a later post!
We had a special little visitor on Monday! Bugs (as the Diva has named him or her, whatever!) was sitting outside our house at 7:15am when the Diva left for school. She was excited and said Bugs followed her down the block. When I went outside at about 10:30am, Yep Bugs was just sitting there, chilling! Bugs finally left around noon but was back Monday evening around 5pm! The Diva is now calling Bugs her pet., Considering all the ice everywhere today I hope Bugs is somewhere safe and warm...
Lastly my baby cousin was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go to the Inauguration of our 44th President of the United States. Washington was FREEZING! But that did not stop the crowds who gathered for this monumental time in history! My cousin is an Attorney and it appears that sister girl was doing some power networking. Lady Esquire went to the BET Inaugural Ball, and she looked FABULOUS! She has pictures with tons of celebs and people of influence like Roland Martin, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kirk Franklin, Jordin Sparks and Susan Taylor, just to name a few. I will not at all be surprised to see this young lady making some power moves in Washington D.C.! My cousin sent me about 150 pictures! I am not posting pictures of celebrities because I do NOT want to get sued (maybe I'll get to post some celebs at a later date)! But my cousin "Lady Esquire" is all the celebrity I need and isn't she FABULOUS!!

Fun post, and most of our WW entries are brimming with words, we just can't seem to resist can we? Your cousin is so fortunate to have been a part of the excitement in DC!

Definitely one of your wordier WW!

Ice is so much worse than snow- I'll take snow any day over ice.

And Bugs sure is cute!

Mema

Lady Esqire looks fabulous as usual. I wonder if her mother designed her gown? That's what your aunt does you know.

You did a "wordful wednesday"..lol

I really enjoyed the pictures though. Girl, I am scared to death of squirrels...you are braver then I am to take that photo. I always think they are going to jump on me.

Girl, keep your head up under all that ice! I understand what that is like, as I am a born and bred Montrealer and lived through the HUGE ice storm in 1998 that North America was hit with. Montreal was shut down, it was horrible! No electricity, no heat...but you will persevere, all will come through. Just please be careful!

BTW your little friend "Bugs" is too cute!!! :)

Wow, all that ice in Texas?? The weather is weirded out everywhere.

Bugs is cute - I had a wild bunny that I ended up feeding for over a year - I called him/her Marmalade because of the apricot coloring.
