The Big Natural Hair Update!!

Hey there blogosphere!!!
Just wanted to give you a quick update. I know that you all have been wondering and waiting with bated breath to know what was going on with me and my journey to natural hair.
Well, wait no more!!!!
You may recall me talking about my hair escapades during this journey HERE. I love, love, love the twist out, it is awesome to be able to just finger through some curls and go. However there is one major problem. As the perm is growing out the permed ends get tangled when I wash and condition my hair and it takes forever to untangle and comb through that mess. I played with the idea of getting Sister Locs so I don't have to be bothered with trying to comb it but decided not to. Being the very impatient person that I am, I decided to stop waiting for it to grow out so I CHOPPED IT ALL OFF!!
That's right I did it, The BIG CHOP! I am also not coloring anymore, so the sides are grey! It is growing in "Naturally Nappy"!! It is so freeing to not have to worry about perming, hot curling, flat ironing, and mostly, trying to keep curls in this heat!
There are some days when I wake up, look in the mirror and say to myself, "What the HELL was I thinking???!!?" But by the time I moisturize it and play with it I remember why I did it!
In about 2-3 weeks I am going to go and get it edged/shaped up but in the mean time, it is what it is!!
I am looking forward to the days when I can do a twist out again, but it will be awhile until my hair grows enough for that. The great part is that IT IS ALL NATURAL BABY!!!!!!!!!!

Honey, I'm loving your hair! I love a closely cropped haircut. I wore my hair like that for several years and over the past few years I've let it grow out, but seeing you is making me remember the ease of it all :) Lately I've been thinking of going back short again. You look great!

Hey there Regina!

I loooved the photo of you in the header... but I really, really love the sporty look of the short hair and the natural look is really a statement of "I do ME very well!"

I loved when Jada made a speech at some woman's organization a year or so ago and she said, "Do YOU."

I am a chemical hair girl right now ...and that was after years and years in micro braids. It takes a LOT of care and attention to keep our hair healthy (whether it's in its natural state or whether it's chemically-styled)! I didn't have carefree days when I was in micro braids...I had to watch for breakage and drying.

Can I go back to talking about YOU??? (smiles)

One thing I looove about your short hair is that it really brings out your eyes. These photos of you show just how much your bright eyes just pop!

I hope you are happy with your decision to snip, snip!

You betta WERK IT GURL!

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
