Stand, Purpose, And Victory

I never understood why people assume that if you are a Christian nothing goes wrong in your life.  Life for Christians is not easier than other lives, the difference is that Christians know and understand that in the end we win!  So in the meantime we walk by faith and not by sight.
I do not like when people see Christians going through trials and the first thing they say is "PRAY ABOUT IT"What makes you think that I did not, will not or have not prayed about it??  Going through a trial does not mean that you are not praying enough, or that you are not reading your bible enough, or that you are not saved enough.  It simply means that you are going through a trial.  There is a lesson to be learned from it and hopefully a victory and a testimony at the end of it!  Just in case you did not know, God will ALLOW you to be tested and tried.  In Luke chapter 22, Jesus tells Peter that Satan has asked to sift him like wheat!  In the book of Job, Job was greatly tested and lost family, property, and means of living.  Life will contain many tests, will YOU still stand?

I had a family friend once who left her family.  Yes she just walked out one day and got lost in the city that never sleeps.  I was younger then but I always wondered what would make someone just walk away from a family.  I do not mean like a father leaving his kids and divorcing a wife a or a deadbeat dad.  I am talking about someone going out to the store and just NEVER coming back, unseen and unheard from.  When I was younger that really bothered me but when I got older there was a time or two when I actually considered it.  I really thought long and hard about just walking out of my own life and disappearing.  I weighed the pros and cons, and really thought about whether or not my children would be better off with  or without me.  I believe that God's GRACE kept me where I needed to be and my FAITH keeps me believing that there is a purpose!

And STILL I Stand, because there IS a PURPOSE and I HAVE the VICTORY!

Love this post.

I too struggle with the Christian brethren from time to time, myself, but it's mostly out of a defense mechanism whenever I'm openly criticized for my lifestyle, I guess. I always remind Christians of how we are all sinners and no sin stands above the rest. Yet, I can appreciate when Christians such as yourself offer clarity.

It's definitely all about the Faith one holds dear to his or her heart. Faith allows such things as discernment, bible studies, beliefs, repentance and, as you stated, joy in the morning.

Stunned that anyone would walk away from their life, but I certainly respect the fact that those who do have a good enough reason.

Stimulating read.

I love your post. As usual it is sooo real. The enemy will try to make one think that maybe I'm the problem. Maybe there would be less stress on everyone if I were not around; but all of that is just the enemy doing his thing - interjecting doubt and fear into a situation that God says we will overcome if we only stand. God says stand therefore wearing the whole armor of God praying always with all prayers and supplecations in the spirit; because in the end WE WIN!
So thank you for reminding us how fragile we really are and how the battle is not ours, but the Lord's.

The blessing is in the struggle! :)

Wonderful post Regina! That's what I like about your post "You're Not Afraid" to bring it! What a pity it is to chew other brothers & sisters up and spit them out as if we're perfect. Thank God for his grace & mercy that last forever!
Love ya

Hi Regina,

My buddy Pat shared your post on twitter! I decided to visit your blog, and I was glad I did. The post was great. Soooo true. Your message sounded very familiar. Not too long ago, I posted an article, titled "Suffering As a Christian."

God bless you!

Great post. You've expressed a lot of things I've thought. It's great that you are open and honest about the trials and how to deal.

I am not stunned that someone would walk away from their life, as my friend Don mentioned. I thought a lot about that when I was married, but only briefly as a single mom. I know my children are much better off with me in their lives and hope that I can be exactly what God wants me to be for them.
