Who is Rachel? I’m 40 years old, a divorced parent and have been blogging since around 2004. Right now I have 4 blogs. I’m also a part time student.
Explain what type of business you operate? My business is R&M Social Media.(http://rmsocialmedia.wordpress.com) It’s a graphics design company. We sell original photos and artwork. We also provide social networking help for small businesses and blogs.
How long have you been in business? Since Feb 2012
How did you get the name for your business? R&M stands for Rachel and Marvin (my partner). Regina: Aww, yes, the partner! I hope to interview him next week!
What motivated you to start this type of business? Marvin has always enjoyed photography and I have always enjoyed graphic design. I was a graphics design specialist in the Army for 6 years. We decided to build R&M Social so we can put our time into something we enjoy. Life is too short to not do what you enjoy! Regina: I DEFINITELY agree!!
What are your top 5 must have business tools/aids? I have 5 favorite online apps: Buffer is my top app. Then there is Gremln, Timely, Hootsuite and Trapit. I use these every day and they are life savers!!
Where do you see your business in 5 years? In 5 years, we would like R&M Social to be an up and coming photography and art provider!
What inspires you? I’m inspired by my own creativity. It’s something I can’t live without. When I am creating, is when I’m most alive. Feeling alive every day is what it’s all about!
Who is your business icon or who’s business ethic do you admire? Marvin Washington (my partner) has been my biggest inspiration. I learn from him how to press on and never give up. It’s because of him that I got up off my butt and did something with my ideas!
If you were standing in front of a room full of hopeful, promising, entrepreneurs what would you say to them? You’ll never know what you are capable of until you try! Do something, anything!!! Just don’t sit around doing nothing and complaining that your life isn’t what it should be!
Is there anything you would like to add? I thank God for the wonderful people he’s allowed me to meet online! Regina: That right there is a mouthful!!
Fabulous! Love the video! Thank You Rachel!!
