Tell the readers a little bit about yourself.  I graduated from Hampton University with a degree in psychology. After graduation I worked with children between the ages of 3-21 years old for over eight years. Recently, I transitioned from working with youth into full-time real estate.  We were a mobile office for about 4 years and in April 2012 my husband and I decided that we needed a stationary, central location where our clients could come and meet with us, search for homes and we wanted to add to our team.  Since then our team has tripled in size, we have hired 5 other agents specializing in different areas of the City as well as the suburban areas, we  even have an American Sign Language speaking agent.  (Regina: Now that is covering all your bases!)
What type of business do you operate?  Real Estate brokerage

How long have you been in business? 7 years

How did you get the name for your business? One day I was just sitting around with my husband brainstorming, and we thought about the fact that the homes that we are selling are not always new. They are however, new to our clients), hence the name of our business New 2 U Homes.  (Regina: Love it!)

What motivated you to start this type of business?  I saw the need for first time home buyers to have someone in their corner advocating on their behalf.  We also saw that there was a great need for Home buyer’s education, advocacy and just a familiar face to remain with them throughout the process.  We assist our clients with establishing credit, becoming “mortgage-able” and finding the perfect home for them.

What are your top 5 must have business tools/aids?  Computer, scanner/copier, cellular phones, Google calendar and our office manager J

Where do you see your business in 5 years? Planting several locations throughout upstate New York and the major cities (NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc.) modeling the same business plan and care for our clients that we take every day.  (Regina: Makes PERFECT sense!  Lock down all the major cities!  Let me know when you hit Texas!)

What inspires you?  Seeing the faces and tears of my New 2 U Home’s clients when we hand them those keys at the closing table J

Who is your business icon or who’s business ethic do you admire? My Husband Christopher Thomas Broker/Owner of New 2 U Homes who has been buying and selling houses since he was 18 years old.

If you were standing in front of a room full of hopeful, promising, entrepreneurs what would you say to them?  Think of what you love doing the most and DO IT!

Thank You Ty! I know your patrons Thank You!

2 People Saying Something!

That's a great business and in a wonderful location. I'd like to give you the names of a couple of people who need to purchase homes and live in that region. What most first time home buyers are looking for is a friendly face and some one to help them through the maze of home buying. Great interview!
