The Vanishings: Four Kids Face Earth's Last Days Together by Jerry B. Jenkins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I loved the original "Left Behind" series of books (which I also own), so reading this book was a natural progression for me. When we think about the rapture we think of those left behind as adults because all the children are gone but I never really considered the ages of 14-17. These kids are at the age of accountability. They know right from wrong. It was sad reading about the behaviors of these left behind teen HOWEVER it was very believable because today's society is nurturing a breed of youth that is insolent, rude, disrespectful, and disobedient. Some of today's youth are liars, thieves, and even murders, so the premise of this book is totally saddening but equally believable.
This book was an excellent introduction to the Left Behind Kids series. The characters are well written and strong personalities all with different issues to work through. I would highly recommend this book to young readers. It was enlightening and entertaining.
