MicroTouch ONE , A Review

Okay, so I have gotten a few packages in the mail and I have some reviews to post.  Blogging is an interesting way to voice your opinion and sometimes people will send you stuff just to get your opinion and share it with the world! Yep, I have NO problem sharing my thoughts with the world!! The good thing about receiving these items to review and blog about is that I GET TO KEEP THEM (or give them as gifts!)

I received a MicroTouch One razor. When I opened it up the family and I were full of oohhs and aahhs! Because it is so fancy looking!

**Disclosure: I received this MicroTouch ONE free from Ideavillage Products Corp, via Fuel My Blog in order to review it. I am not paid for this post and own no stock in Ideavillage Products Corp. My review is my honest opinion of the product.**

Okay, so the background spiel...
MicroTouch ONE is the modern version of the timeless classic safety razor. After years of price increases from multi-blade razor manufacturers, MicroTouch, a consistent top-three grooming brand in the country (Nielsen Report, Razor Trimmer Appliances, 52 weeks ending 2012), brings you the most affordable and effective razor option that professional Barbers still prefer today – the single blade shave.

A substantial and precision-crafted tool, MicroTouch ONE is made of solid brass and chrome plated to a beautiful, polished shine. The ONE feels fabulous in your hand and, most important, glides smoothly across your skin for the best shave of your life. The ONE’s “butterfly” opening allows you to easily and safely clean the blade, rinsing it free of shaving cream and whiskers after each shave. Your blades last longer, and that saves you money.

MicroTouch ONE comes complete with the razor, 12 blades, and a hard-shell travel case. At $19.99, it’s a steal. Learn more at:

So on to my reveiw...
First of all MicroTouch ONE comes in a black hard plastic traveling case with 12 blades but mine came with 24 razor blades. The black hard plastic carrying case is red on the inside and contains a little built in travel mirror.  The razor itself is made of brass inside chrome plating and it has some weight to it so it is easy to handle. The blades come wrapped in paper and then enclosed in a small plastic receptacle. The travel case is small enough to fit in a briefcase, overnight bag, or even a pocket if need be! The MicroTouch ONE has a screw open, butterfly opening where you put the blade.
With the cost of the disposable razors on the market and the cost of the refill blades, and depending on how often you shave buying this MicroTouch ONE is very likely a more cost effective deal. The stainless steel blades last longer and you initially get 12 with your razor. But no matter how often you shave the MicroTouch ONE is definitely a better quality product. And the product has a fabulous classic look and feel to it! This is your old school, barbershop, type single blade shaver. It is an acquired taste and may take some getting used to but DEFINITELY WORTH IT for a CLASSIC, CLOSER SHAVE!
On a scale of 1-10 I give this product a solid 9!

My son (Mr. Manager) shaves his face AND his head so as you can see this is the perfect gift for him!

Thank You MicroTouch ONE!!

You (and your readers) should know that even though the razor is listed at $19.99, with postage and handling (and the additional P&H of the "free" blades) it actually comes to over $30. Mind you, it's not a bad razor, but for that price there are competing razors you can get off Amazon or other places that might be a better value.

Also, shaving with an "old school" safety razor like the Micro Touch One is not like shaving with a modern cartridge razor! It does take a little attention to detail to get it right and you might have to unlearn some bad shaving habits.
