Starting The Year Off With A Bang!

Wow, can you believe it?
We are mid-way through the first week of 2014! A brand new year, with new expectations, new insights, and new understandings!
So far my January has been full and eventful!
My mother (The Elder) celebrated her 65th birthday! YES! This is a major milestone!

My daughter (The Diva) celebrated her 20th birthday!  Yes, my baby is a grown lady!

On January 6th, members of my church (Yes, including me!) embarked upon our 21-day Daniel Fast.  So I am trying new foods and finding creative ways to eat that do not include ANY meat, ANY sweeteners, ANY dairy, and ANY breads.  Yikes... for an unofficial Italian carb-aholic like me this is extremely hard. I LOVE pastas, cheese, breads, and rice!  But I can only eat brown rice, and NO cheese, and NO bread! so yea, this is hard!
But I am WORKING these veggies and whole wheat pasta!

At my church we had a very successful Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast to honor the volunteers who worked so very hard during 2013! The event was fabulous! We even had REAL FOOD! LOL! Yes, our Pastor gave us a reprieve for Saturday, BUT not the whole day, just for the breakfast!! But we appreciated it and ate that food like it was the last supper!  I volunteer with an awesome group of ladies! And we had a good time!
Guess what? At the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast I got "A World Of Difference" Award! I was totally surprised, but it does feel good to be appreciated!

Whew!! The month is only half over and we are moving full speed ahead!!

How is YOUR month looking so far?

Blessings!
Regina
