What About The Children?

I do not watch television so the majority of my news comes from the internet.  I even subscribe to various news sites so that current and breaking news comes to my phone or to my Fac
ebook page.
I do not know about you, but I have noticed a disturbing rise in crimes against children.  You may think that crime is crime and that crimes against children is just like any other crime in today's society. But I beg to differ. The rise in crimes, in my opinion, is at an all time epic high.  In my four almost five decades of living,  I have never before seen the amount of crimes against children like I see now.
The attack against our children is catastrophic! Watch the news for a week and note how many news stories involve our children, youth, or teens. And it is not just relegated to any one gender, race, or age.
Aside from all of the "natural" health related deaths you have the accidental deaths. There are stories of parents leaving children in cars while they work or party. Parents are killing their children out of anger and frustration. Parents are leaving their children with neighbors, boyfriends, etc and the children are being raped, brutalized, and killed. Children are killing themselves, children are even killing each other! A lot of these deaths are deemed as "accidental".  You know, like I accidentally left my child in the car for 8 hours in 80 degree temps, or He would not stop crying so I accidentally shook him to death, or I accidentally left the gun loaded in the kids reach.  Yes accidents.  Well guess what? Accidents do not just happen, they are caused. If you are causing "accidents" you are every bit as guilty.

The war on our children and youth is REAL! The enemy is REAL!
Look at this chart from the CDC. And this is 2005! Imagine what the current chart looks like.

Join with me today in prayer for our YOUTH and CHILDREN! You can either be part of the PROBLEM or part of the SOLUTION! Choose your side. If you do not know what to pray then just pray gods promises over the children and youth. Cover the young population in your home, in the schools, in the churches, in the community! If you are walking down the street and pass a child, youth, or teen, pray for him/her to!  You do not have to run up on them and start pouring oil on their heads! (Matter of fact I strongly advise against that!!) But you can quickly say as you pass them, "Father please, bless and protect that child. May your will be done in his/her life, and bless his/her parents with wisdom when it comes to raising him/her. In Jesus name Amen! Or something to that effect. But do not just sit back and do nothing. Stop looking at other children and shaking your head, instead be another prayer warrior for that child's life!

As a parent you are called to pray for, instruct, train up the children. Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Psalm 127: - Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

If God calls the fruit of the womb a heritage and a reward then isn't it our job to protect, strengthen, and guard that reward?

Being a mother of 5 and a grandmother of 3, I take VERY SERIOUS the call to PRAY FOR, TRAIN UP, PROTECT, and LOVE our young! Start NOW praying for our younger generations! Be a Blessing and not a hindrance, be part of the solution not part of the problem!

Blessings,
Regina
