The Nut Job & AMC Theaters

HE IS FINALLY STARTING SCHOOL! Yaaaaayyy! Being born later in the year the grandboy could not enter school this past September when the other kids went to school. BUT, in March he starts! So to celebrate, This past Tuesday I took my grandson to the movies. There is a movie theater not to far from us. I had some mixed feelings about going to this particular theater because my last visit was NOT a favorable one. The theater at the time of my last visit was owned by Carolina Cinemas who had acquired it from United Artist. This theater was a tragic and disgusting mess! I wrote about it HERE. That was back in March of 2013, so it was with some trepidation that I went on this past Tuesday. I knew that the theater had again changed management and is now owned by AMC.
Since my grandson is starting school next month I decided we may as well make the most of our last month together... No he is not leaving town or anything but when you spend your entire day with a child under the age of 4 you become accustomed to a certain noise level LOL!  That will change in a few weeks!
I was wildly and pleasantly surprised! The theater was clean, the carpets were new, and all of the seats have been replaced with AWESOME RECLINERS! Yes, I said AWESOME! The recliners are plush and comfortable. You do not have to exert yourself to recline because you push a button to recline you and another button to raise you back up.
The fountain drink machines offer various flavorings for your soda. For instance if you choose Sprite y
ou can add peach, raspberry, cherry, vanilla, etc flavors to it! Sheer genius! They have new food selections and have even installed a bar (if that sort of thing works for you). The bar is equipped with a flat screen television so adults who are not watching a movie, or waiting for the movie to start can watch television. The theater was spotless, the workers, friendly (maybe a little overly friendly).
Anyway, we went to see "The Nut Job" in 3D. The movie was about a squirrel planning a big nut heist and the issues with pulling it off. The movie was also about the motives of bad guys and the good guys and understanding the difference. The movie was really good, had a good moral, and the 3D was great, (Oh and did I already tell you that the THEATER WAS AWESOME??). So if you have kids or grandkids between the ages of 4 and up take them to see this movie, and if you live near an AMC Theater go check it out!
