Heart Of A Warrior - Stephen Curry, NBA Champion

I am not a big basketball fan, so a blog post about basketball is pretty much very out of character for me. However I just wanted to point out a few things…
For those of you who do not know the NBA Finals was a match-up between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. Most people had their money on the Cleveland Cavaliers to win because they … well because they have LeBron James. Also because Golden State Warriors has been a non-factor for decades. So it seemed like easy money! Throughout the NBA Finals, Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry (point guard and wicked 3-point shooter!) has been the talk of numerous debates.
These debates were not as you would assume solely focused on his basketball playing but on his parenting! Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha have a young daughter named Riley. Riley is almost three years old, rambunctious, and adorable. But some have called her bad, wild, or undisciplined. The issue some people have with Riley???
Her dad, Steph Curry likes to bring her into the interview room with him after games and “they” think this is not a place for a child. During the interviews, being a child she clamors for attention, blurts out hilarious things that only a child can get away with and overall steals the show! Not being a big basketball fan I watched a few games JUST so I could see little miss Riley in the interviews! I much rather see Riley Curry on television stealing the thunder from her dad than see more reports of professional athletes being brought up on rape charges (Darren Sharper) or beating their wives senseless in elevators (Ray Rice), or the tons of professional athletes who are injured and can't play (but still making it to the bank to cash those checks)!

I like, respect, and appreciate Stephen Curry and the Curry family for a few reasons…
1- Unbothered by the media opinions Steph Curry takes his daughter into interviews giving her a firsthand view of daddy’s world. In my opinion this lets her know that she is just that important to him that he will let her share the spotlight with him! ADORABLE!
2- Regardless of the lime light Stephen Curry has kept God and family first. He publically talks about both his faith and his family. COMMENDABLE!
3- Stephen Curry is a TEAM PLAYER! Which is very rare in the NBA!
Curry spoke about his faith during a MVP speech by saying, "People should know who I represent and why I am who I am, and that's because of my Lord and Savior." He also said the reason that he pounds his chest and points up is that he has a "heart for God" and as a reminder that he plays for God.

Stephen Curry has a shoe deal and on his "Curry One" sneaker you can see “4:13” which Curry says is a reference to the bible verse Philippians 4:13, which states “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

In a profession where players receive copious and obscene amounts of money and a lot of the players are rude, egotistical, over-privileged, crybabies, Steph Curry, the 27 year-old, baby-faced assassin is a breath of fresh air! Stephen Curry knows, understands, and values the concept of TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK! He knows that this is a TEAM sport and without his team, he cannot win. He is NOT trying to be the king and carry the entire team on his shoulders. He is being a team-player so that the ENTIRE TEAM advances!
This is what made the Golden State Warriors NBA Champions for the first time since 1975!

CONGRATS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS you earned it!
